Dehradun, 8 Dec: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off a group of 240 top-performing Class 10 students for the ‘Bharat Darshan’ Educational Tour, an initiative designed to help young achievers explore India’s advancements in science, technology, culture, and history.
These students, who topped the Uttarakhand Board Exams 2025, will travel to different states in multiple groups as part of the programme. The event was held at SCERT, Nanurkheda.
Students to Explore India’s Scientific and Cultural Progress
Addressing the ceremony, CM Dhami said the educational tour gives meritorious students a real-world opportunity to witness India’s rapid progress across various fields.
He encouraged the students to document their experiences, especially noting key examples of development and innovation in Uttarakhand.
Dhami Highlights Uttarakhand’s National Achievements
The Chief Minister shared several milestones where Uttarakhand has set an example for the country:

First state to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC)

Strict anti-copying law enforced for the first time

Ranked first in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

First place at the 2023 Republic Day Parade on Kartavya Path

He added that these achievements reflect the state’s growing leadership and vision.
Rewards for Best Travel Diaries
CM Dhami announced that two outstanding students from each district will be awarded based on the travel diaries they maintain during the tour.
He also shared that in the first phase of the initiative in 2024-25, 156 students visited top scientific and technical institutions. This year, the number has increased to 240 students.

Tour to Build Confidence and Expand Students’ Vision
Dhami told the students that they would witness how far New India has progressed in technology and innovation.
He said that while classroom learning is important, real-life exposure helps build deeper understanding, teamwork, social skills, and self-confidence.
The Chief Minister said the students will also act as Brand Ambassadors of Uttarakhand, sharing the state’s unique culture, cuisine, nature, and tourism wherever they go.
Education Minister Highlights Record Participation in Vande Mataram Event
Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat noted that under the CM’s leadership, the Education Department organised a collective singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ in 23,000 schools on Constitution Day, marking 150 years of the historic song. The event saw a record 21 lakh participants.
He also announced that from next year, 1,000 talented students will be sent on the educational tour.
MLA Umesh Sharma Kau, Secretary Ravinath Raman, Additional Secretary Ranjana Rajguru, and Director General of Education Deepti Singh were present during the event.
