Siddharth Desai, a left-arm orthodox spinner, delivered a phenomenal bowling performance in a Ranji Trophy match against Uttarakhand. Playing at Gujarat College Cricket Ground A in Ahmedabad, Desai claimed nine wickets, setting a new record in Gujarat cricket with figures of 9-36.

This incredible feat surpassed the previous record of 8-31 held by Rakesh Vinubhai Dhurv against Saurashtra in 2012. Uttarakhand’s batting lineup crumbled, managing only 111 runs in 30 overs, with Vishal B Jayswal taking the final wicket for Gujarat.

1. Early Breakthroughs:
   Desai’s magic began in the fifth over, where he dismissed PS Khanduri, Samarth R, and Yuvraj Choudhary within four deliveries.
2. Five-Wicket Haul by 15th Over:
   By the 15th over, Desai had secured a five-wicket haul, including the dismissals of Kunal Chandela (LBW) and Mayank Mishra (bowled).
3. Decimating Uttarakhand’s Lineup:
   He continued his dominance by dismissing opener Avneesh Sudha (30 runs), followed by Aditya Tare, Abhay Negi, and D Dhapola to complete his record-breaking nine-wicket haul.
