Uttarakhand has been officially confirmed by the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) as the host for the 38th National Games, scheduled from January 28 to February 14, 2025. In an exciting development, the National Winter Games will also be held concurrently in the Himalayan state.

Discussions with IOA President
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met with IOA President PT Usha in New Delhi to finalize the details of the upcoming event. The full program for the National Games will be announced during the IOA’s general assembly meeting on October 25.

A Boost for Local Sports Talent
Chief Minister Dhami expressed that the games would serve as a significant opportunity for Uttarakhand. He emphasized that the event would inspire local athletes, offering them the chance to witness the skill and dedication of national players. Dhami further stated that the event would encourage aspiring sportspersons by showcasing the efforts required to compete at such a high level.

Readying the State for the Event
Dhami assured that Uttarakhand was fully prepared to host the games, with upgraded infrastructure and facilities in place. “We have developed the necessary infrastructure, and the games will be organized in a grand manner,” he said. The Chief Minister also highlighted the state’s commitment to learning from past national games and the experiences of other host states to ensure a smooth and successful event.
