Arrest Based on Wildlife Crime Intelligence

The STF, acting on intelligence provided by Delhi’s Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), launched an operation and apprehended the suspect, identified as Brijmohan, who is known by his first name only.

Leopard Hides Seized

The two leopard skins, measuring approximately 6 feet and 8 feet in length, were seized during the operation.

Investigation Underway

Authorities are investigating whether the accused is linked to a broader wildlife trafficking network. A case has been filed against him under the Wildlife Protection Act.

Leopard Conservation Status

Leopards are classified as vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Red List. The possession of protected species or their body parts is a serious crime, punishable under Indian law.
